Forrest Stops Wilson

Dec 20, 1864
Moving the rearguard infantry of the Army of Tennessee
through Pulaski in wagons, Forrest took up a defensive position
in this area, with Featherston's and Palmer's infantry supporting
Armstrong's and Ross' dismounted Cavalry Brigades.
Reynolds' and Fields' Infantry and Jackson's Cavalry Divisions
were in reserve; Morton's artillery in position on the hills. A cautious
Federal advance met with fierce counterattack, in which numerous
prisoners, a gun and several hundred horses were taken.
The Federal advance stopped for the day.
